Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 14, 2026
The short version: ReviewLenz collects publicly visible Trustpilot reviews only when you start a scan, uses Google sign-in to protect your free scan, history and purchases across reinstalls, and sends review content to our server and AI providers for analysis. We do not sell your data or track browsing outside the pages required to provide ReviewLenz.
1. What ReviewLenz Does
ReviewLenz is a Chrome extension that helps you analyse customer reviews on Trustpilot. When you initiate a scan, the extension:
- Opens Trustpilot review pages in background tabs using your logged-in browser session
- Extracts publicly visible review data (rating, text, date, title) from those pages
- Sends the collected reviews to our analysis server for AI processing
- Returns a structured intelligence report displayed in a local browser tab
2. Data We Collect
Review data: When you initiate a scan, we process and store the review text, rating, date, title, and review identifier extracted from public Trustpilot pages.
Analysis and usage data: We store generated reports, the scanned brand, review counts, scan timestamps, and access history needed to provide your report history and downloads.
Account and technical data: When you choose Google sign-in, we receive your verified email address, name, profile image and stable Google account identifier. We use them only to authenticate you, enforce the one-time free analysis, and restore your history and purchases. A randomly generated installation identifier and a separate scan-session identifier help migrate pre-account history and route active scan results. Our hosting provider may also process IP addresses and request logs for security, reliability, and rate limiting.
What we do NOT collect:
- Your Trustpilot login credentials
- Your browsing history outside of Trustpilot review pages
- Personal information from your Trustpilot account
- Your Trustpilot cookies, passwords, or authentication tokens
- Data from any website other than Trustpilot review pages you explicitly scan
3. How We Use Your Data
Collected review data is used exclusively to:
- Generate AI-powered analysis reports (sentiment, themes, NPS, action plans)
- Power the conversational AI chat feature within your report
- Provide report history and paid raw-review exports
- Cache results temporarily to avoid redundant processing
We do not use review data for advertising, profiling, training AI models, or any purpose other than delivering your analysis report.
4. Data Storage and Retention
- Analysis results and raw review data are stored in our database and associated with your ReviewLenz account so you can restore history and purchases after reinstalling the extension.
- Retention: Stored reports and their review data remain available until they are deleted at your request or removed as part of our operational data-management process. ReviewLenz does not currently apply an automatic expiration period to saved reports.
- Server cache: A separate temporary cache may retain recent results to improve performance for repeat lookups.
- Local storage: Your installation identifier, scan state, most recent analysis, and recent review data are saved in local extension storage. You can clear this data by removing the extension or clearing its storage.
5. Third-Party Services
ReviewLenz uses the following third-party services to deliver analysis:
- OpenAI — processes review text and report context to generate structured analyses and answer report-chat questions. OpenAI's API data-usage terms apply to this processing.
- Railway — hosts our backend server infrastructure.
- Stripe — processes payments when you purchase an eligible report or review export. ReviewLenz does not receive your complete card details.
- Google — authenticates your account and provides the basic profile information described above after you explicitly choose Google sign-in.
We do not share data with advertisers or data brokers. ReviewLenz's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
